Mary has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, specializing in Architecture Design from Mass College of Art, an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Mt. Ida College, and has completed graduate studies in American Fine and Decorative Arts at Sotheby’s in New York City. Since 1988 she has designed kitchens for some of the better showrooms in Boston Metrowest. She’s not opposed to travel, and has designed kitchens as far away as Australia and Hawaii. When she’s not designing kitchens herself, she is teaching interior design at Mass Bay Community College and Kitchens 101 in various adult ed venues around the area.
Mary is available for whole house design, including additions. She can also help with backsplash and bathroom tile designs, paint color choices and other decorating solutions such as furniture and accessory shopping. She also specializes in picture grouping and placement. |
Althea has been assessing kitchens for 23 years, first
as a real estate agent with N.B. Taylor & Co. in
Sudbury, and with other agencies from Concord to
Marblehead. She obtained her Certificate of Interior
Design at Massachusetts Bay Community College, while
working with her mentor, interior designer Eileen
Feldman (ASID). Althea spent one year as a bath
designer at EXPO Design Center in Burlington,
designing and selling 33 bathrooms.
Althea especially enjoys working with space to make
rooms more functional and livable, and loves blowing
out walls to find more of it. She lives in her
dreamhouse, a hilltop Deck House, which has 48 feet of
glass walls facing the Boston sunrise. The guest
bathroom has a sink in a converted Victorian dresser
and Mexican tiles on the floor and tub surround. |
